If your site runs on WordPress this is the simplest install: one plugin and one settings page, with no code and no changes to your theme.
You can do it yourself from this page, or leave it to us. Either way we check the result together with you.
A current version of WordPress. If the site has not been updated for years, update it first, and we can do that too.
A secure connection (HTTPS). Without it the browser blocks the window, and that is not about the bot any more.
Administrator access to the site, yours or ours, to install the plugin and open the settings page.
You leave a request and we send you the install file and the key that ties the plugin to your bot. It is not in the public WordPress directory, it comes from us.
The file uploads from your site admin like any other plugin, then you switch it on and enter the key. From that moment the window is already there on the site.
Once the plugin is on, one settings page appears in the menu, and that is all that gets added to your site. There you choose the language the window opens in, the colour of the button, the corner it sits in, and the wording of the first greeting.
The same page holds the data notice the customer sees before the first message, your business name, the person who receives enquiries and the country where the data is kept. We hand you the notice ready written, you fill in your own details.
Today we do this check by hand when we set your bot up: we open the site, open the window, ask real questions and see that the notice is shown. An automatic check is something we are switching on in the next few weeks.
Every setting lives on one page, with nothing hidden away: language, colours, where the button sits, the window texts, the data notice, your business details and the country the data is kept in.
Each field has a short line saying what it changes. A field you never touched stays the way we set it up.
There is nothing to download, nothing to paste into code and nothing to change in your theme.
The chat button sits above the cookie banner and above the accessibility button so it does not disappear behind them. If something on your site still covers it, write to us and we will move it.
Do not go digging in the code. Write to us what happened and on which page, and we will look at it on your site.
What we have run into so far: another element of the site covering the window, a site without a secure connection, and a caching plugin still serving an old page. All of these have a fix, and we do it.
